Mayweather's Attitude Stinks

The following is an extract from a report from by a British commentator which can be read in full at this link.

On Monday and Tuesday I worked with London based cameraman Stuart Vickery. A couple of weeks ago he got the call to fly to Vegas and film some training plus a sit down interview for Sky Sports News.

Local reporter Jon Saraceno, who's known Floyd since his amateur days, arranged the meeting.

Stuart set up his lights for the one on one and was ready to go, until Floyd heard his accent. Then the pound-for-pound king branded our man "the enemy" and "disrespectful". He insisted the interview, location and all the lights be moved.

What an absolute **** of man. I hope Hatton breaks his face.

I don't think he can have any complaints about how he's portrayed in the UK. SHowing up to the Manchester pres conference with a huge wad of dollar bills is always going to rub people up the wrong way. ...I think he didint want sky sports in his camp knowing how hes being portrayed overseas, sports people, not just boxers, tend to have their preferences on who their interviewed by and how, if they know a certain reporter, or new station has been slanting them in a certain way, some people wont do an interview period.

In all honesty i think this thread is pointless and this happens alot more than you think. Atheletes always have their preference with media, which is why you see the same guys sometimes on the same channels, or flatout refusing to be talked to or asked question by certain media/reporters.

I think youre overreacting and this is a perfect case of pointless nitpicking of a fighter you simply dont like. He didint say he wouldnt do the interview, he didint want it all in his training camp, so stop whining.

How he is portrayed overseas? He is potrayed as the best boxer on the planet. What does he expect - a knighthood from the Queen?

I don't care if athletes have their preferences within the media, that is to be expected, but I know for a fact that most sports stars, at least in the UK, do not act like spoiled little b**** in the way Floyd did in this instance.

You guys should watch boxers box, and stop putting so much stock into their attitudes and personal lives. You sound like a bunch of women.

NEWS FLASH: 95% of all famous people are jackasses. 95% of them would not sit and have a drink with you if they met you on the street, regardless of how nice you think they look on camera.

Watch famous athletes do whatever it is that got them famous and be happy with that. They are not your friends, they do not need you to check their attitudes.

I don't understand the question. He outboxed Baldomir for the WBC and Ring championship belts, maybe gave up 2 rounds. Maybe.

He outboxed DLH for a split decision. You can say "He fought a boring fight" or "he didn't mix it up enough for me" but to ask "where was the boxing" is pretty silly. The fight with Baldo especially was a boxing clinic...

Look guys, I'm not even in this thread to defend Floyd's fighting style. All I'm saying is a lot of famous people are *******s, who cares? Keyshawn Johnson is one of my favorite receivers of all time. You think I care that he's a jackass? He wrote a ****ing book called "Just Give Me The Damn Ball" for God's sake. A lot of you all size up celeberties attitudes like you are looking for a potenial husband, yet you have the audacity to call their fans "nuthuggers".
