Good. Miranda hasn't been outclassed since Abraham. Pascal I'm sure will oblige in his attempt at giving the Columbian a well needed boxing lesson.

Every boxer I know (and I do know a good amount) has some type of struggle to make weight. Some more than others, but it is one of the hardest part of their camp. I do not know Pascal walk around weight, but on average most boxers at that weight would fight at 175-180lbs and probably gain another 10-15 after the fight. If Pascal was much different he would be fighting at a lower weight class. No matter how you look at it, he will have to do his best to NOT gain as much weight as usual to fight this close together.Lets say Pascal does the weight loss thing .. gets down to 168 for his December 7th fight
why would he have to do it all over again? just 1 month later?
Do we even know his walk around weight?
he's a professional, your telling me a pro athlete can't even maintain the same weight .. a good 30 days later?
I really doubt Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the only fighter that is in shape all year round.
hey I dunno Jean Pascal and his training camp, but I would think that he is going to be doing something between his December fight and the January one besides cutting of 10-15 pounds
again not calling you out, but you would have to think that to cut weight December 7th ... and then to do it all over again one month later, sounds kind of tedious
is it too unrealistic to say that Pascal would be in shape December 7th .. and maintain it by the time January 11th rolls around?Comment

look at it this way .. if he loses to Miranda he can always use the weight as an excuse
yeah im sure making weight is a problem .. hell it does come up a lot for other fighters .. such as Miranda, etc I am well aware that just because a boxer weights XX amount, that doesn't mean he ways XX all the time.
But im just saying .. considering the lack of time between the December 7th fight and the January 11th fight
its about 4 or 5 weeks wouldn't it be in Pascal's best interest to be doing SOME kind of exercising or training between the 2 fights too keep his weight in the low 170's? (if its possible I mean)
and true Super Middle's weighting 175-180 probably isn't such a shock, but at the same time look at Miranda, the broadcast I saw of his fight vs Porras a commentator said that Miranda had to shed 14 lbs
but consider the fact that Miranda is now at 168 vs 160 ... I would think its easier for Edison to cut 15 pound to get to 168 vs all the way down to 160.
has Pascal's chin really been tested?
I do recall on a FNF broadcast Jean calling out Allan Green, and Green pretty much laughed off the ideaLast edited by MJ406; 11-17-2007, 02:11 PM.Comment

He is not fighting Miranda in Jan. It is a doubleheader in ESPN FNF. Miranda being the main event and Pascal the comain.look at it this way .. if he loses to Miranda he can always use the weight as an excuse

I am not saying Pascal cant make the weight twice in just over 30 days, it is just unusual a boxer with his kind of record would do that. If I were his manager I would not allow him to fight in Dec. There is probably not much money in the fight or exposure (being a comain on a nontv fight). He should be working hard for the ESPN fight. Not much money either, but a ton of exposure. But that is just me, I guess he has his reasons....Comment
