      Hopkins to Sign Two-Fight Deal
      Luis Enrique
Marc Abrams contributed to this Report.

According to Middleweight king Bernard Hopkins, he will be in New York on Wednesday to meet with HBO Executives, where they will announce his plans for a two-fight deal.

"I will be in New York tomorrow to sign a two-fight deal — the final two fights of my career — with HBO." Hopkins said on the Angelo Caltidi Show (a local cable show in Philadelphia), "The first fight will be in January against Felix Sturm, and the second will be pay-per-view against Felix Trinidad in June."

Hopkins is coming of an impressive knock-out victory over The "Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya (37-4-0, 29 KO's), last month in Las Vegas.

Many believe, Felix Sturm — the man he is slated to fight in Janurary — beat De La Hoya in June of this year, when the two met on the middleweight twin-bill that feature both Oscar, and Bernard Hopkins. The majority of boxing fans were unfamiliar with Sturm, who was undefeated at the time, but with no experience outside of Europe. The German-born fighter would lose a contraversial decision, but would walk away with the respect of the boxing-public, including De La Hoya's.

Assuming Hopkins gets past Sturm, then the pride of Philadelphia will face Felix "Tito" Trinidad (42-1, 35 KO's), in June of 2005, in what will be undoubtedly the most anticipated rematch of the year.

In September of 2001, Bernard The "Executioner" Hopkins, became a household name overnight, when he handed Trinidad his first legitimate defeat — stopping him in the 12th round — in New York's Madison Square Garden.

They just anounced that Sturm was gonna fight in December so I dount he will be fighting in January.

Tito dont want it with Hopkins

            No he dont.

I dont give anyone 168 or under a chance to beat Hopkins. Thats not a knock on Sturm cause he's a good fighter, but Hopkins is a special fighter.

roy jones was special 18 months ago..look at him now.
and b-hops 3-4yrs older than jones at least.

he may just age against sturm but still win only to
face tito and get his ass totally whupped

Mayorga scored a knock down on tito, and mayorga IMO had no power in 160, he was swinging wildly like a girl(no joke) i believe that titos chin wasnt tested in that fight

i had Hopkins up by 2 points against dlh and if dlh would of gotten up and continue it would of been 4 points cuz of a knockdown, the reason dlh did better than tito in winning rounds was because of his hand speed and his upper body movement, tito doesnt have that.

Hopkins by an easy UD over tito

Mayorga's KD of Tito was nothing else than Tito off balance and barely touched his glove on the canvas. As for Hop being up by two points on DLH, I had it the other way, DLH up by one point before the stoppage. I'm by nobody's definition an Oscar fan (more like an Oscar hater) but I think I scored that fight fairly and unbiasedly. Hop is getting old and Sturm might show us something with that jab of his.
