A survey taken by HBO who watched the Dream Match PPV, shows that Manny Pacquiao is the draw than golden boy. They interviewed 1,200 who paid the PPV out of 1.4million PPV viewers and the result of their survey showed that Manny is the next PPV king!
Percentage of the 1,200 respondents who represents the whole 1.4million viewers.
67% Pacquiao fans(or they watched because of MP)
25% dela hoya fans( or they watched because of Oscar)
only 8% of the total respondents were excited about the dream match and not a fan of both fighters. 90% of the 8% were hardcore boxing fans.
note: 62% of 67% who watched because of manny were first timers, scientifically only 360,000 of those, were regular MP PPV watchers and 538,000 were MPs new PPV watchers.
They also interviewed 350 respondents, Oscars regular customer in PPV who didn't watch the Dream Match, Oscar has over 1million average regular PPV viewer since 2004.
95% of them showed no interest of watching about the bout win or lose for oscar.
only 4% due to financial crisis
1% due to conflict of schedules.
HBO conclude that MP can generate 900,000 ppv buys even in financial crisis if theres a good promotion, hype, and a good caliber opponent. And the growth of his fan base is very significant, more than 100% growth. So in a big fight HBO considers Pacman, the only fighter today that has the capacity to break the record of PPV sales. the current record today is 2.4million ppv buys. their PPV sales target for Hatton and MP on May is 1.7million to 2 million PPV buys.

Diaz makes some valid points.
However, I don't care where it happens. I just want the fight to happen. GREAT fight.Comment

I was hoping JMM would fight Nate... I think Diaz would give Marquez some trouble in the late rounds...Comment

This fight would draw big in any latino populated city like Phoenix, or LA. The reason it wouldn't do anything in Vegas is not because these guys don't have drawing power, its because they don't have Vegas type of drawing power. You put this fight in the home depot center, and I guarantee you it'll sell out.Comment
