    Weight Division - Cruiserweights

When you fight in a certain weight division, there may only be a few kilos between you and your opponent. However, in the cruiserweight division the range is from 175lbs to 200lbs (80kgs to 90kgs). So if you are 81kg you might be fighting someone 89kgs. Does this happen often? The weight difference seems like an anomaly to me. Can anyone please explain/clarify?

i've talked about this, they need to lower it to 185.it's ridiculous.they're squeezing more money out of boxing's least talented division.

They should have at least kept it 190, but I guess with the Heavies getting bigger and bigger they wanted to give people 200-210 a chance that were too small to fight heavy, but couldn't make 190.

Of course it doesn't. Anyone around 175 will be at LHW.

there been a couple of threads regarding the reconfiguration of the weight divisions for modern men,a lot of these weight divisions are from the past where the men where smaller.
