Got this from Wikipedia:Paul got his start in boxing from the suggestion of a family friend who saw him fight in a school bus. The driver suggested that Paul use his energy in the boxing gym, and connected him with a manager and trainer. Williams fought only 20-25 fights as an amateur before turning pro at the age 19

WTF! I thaought you meant he started boxing as an ametuer at 18. PRO AT AGE 19 WTF!

look man don't be ******. I don't wanna break your dream, you could still follow your dream but I suggest you still go to school and do boxing on the side. Have a plan b cuz what if you don't make it? boxing look easy until you get popped in the face.

I started training in boxing at age 20. I'm 21 now and I'm a college student. I don't plan on going pro, I just wanna fight for tournaments and get a belt.

You need to go to a strictly boxing only gym and once you get a trainer he will take you to amature bouts once he feels you're ready. Don't think it's gonna be a walk in the park tho, waking up at 6 in the morning to run 5 or 7 miles aint easy. You gotta be a strong minded person to be a boxer.

      hope that helps....

...not trying to be mean... If this was ur dream why are you waiting until now? Being 18 def isn't to late as long as you start doing it now. Join a boxing gym, train, and see how you like it before you train in Puerto Rico...haha Most fighters never make it our of there home city to train. In any event, try it out, because its different when ur actually doing it. Don't think of it as a carrer yet when in all honesty, you yourself do not know what you are made of. Just a bit of advice.

Do what you know best. Right now I'm assuming you don't know nothing about boxing technique so you need to use your head and rationalize things. Alot of fighters are determined but just cuz their determined it don't mean that they're gonna be a superstar champion and make millions per fight. papa te lo estoy diciendo ahora pa que orita tu no puede decir no nadie te lo dijo tu sabe.

You could atleast go to a trade school and learn a trade, do something man. I'm a full time college student and I got 2 jobs and I still got time to train so don't tell me that its too much to handle. usa la cabeza que papa Dios te dio

It's not impossible....sometimes I feel the biggest determination in the world and then I get injured and I can't train for a while and I loose that determination and drive and I become lazy only training once a week but that fire always sparks up again and I start training like an animal.
