    Something i noticed about MMA

Diehard boxing fans seem to hate everytime mma is brought up in a boxing forum, but why is it that almost EVERY single boxing website posts news, and has a section dedicated to mma? Even this site has a section dedicated to the sport. To say that this is a fad is rediculous, seeing as even boxing websites are trying to get in on the action.

I actually think mma is alright. I'm not a fan but if I'm flicking through channels and come across a match i'll watch it. Its nothing like boxing and it will never takes it place but its still fighting. But I do have to agree when people say that MMA shouldn't be on a boxing site. Don't they have their own website?

I watch UFC, Pride, Bodog, IFL and some KickBoxing everyonce in a while. I just dont like when MMA and Boxing is compared. Each has their own attributes which make it better than the other but like ive said before, its like comparing Rugby and American Football.

I get sick of people comparing it all the time too. They are very different combat sports. I watch both any chance I get and can respect both sports.

I think there's a large enough casual audiance that appreciates boxing and MMA and it doesn't hurt boxing sites to bring some coverage to both sports equally. Especially when someone notable in both areas switches mats to train, help train or compete.

I like UFC enough to order most of the PPV events (this saturday especially). It's nowhere near the same as my love of boxing, but I think at this point the only people still calling it a 'fad' are haters and old retired boxers.

It's understandable but w/e. To each his own, everyone ain't gotta like it. Its probably always going to be like this.
