Funny thing is, Cotto is on the short side of 5'7, and there's no way in hell Williams is only 6'1.

Which fight was that from, Mosley fight?

Yes, Paul is taller and has a huge reach advantage but he doesn't use it. He is a tall fighter who doesn't fight tall. That would be his downfall against Cotto.

BTW, Kelson Pinto was also taller with more reach and Cotto was still able to chop him down.

Pinto, Maussa, Bazan, .... Cotto knows how to close the gap on taller fighters.

Maussa, Bazan and Pinto all were 5'10. Williams is listed as 6'1 but when he was next to Evander Holyfield he looked taller and Holyfield is actually 6'2.

He is believed to me 6'2 1/2/ 6'3

Also all of those guys were light welterweights, this is a guy who is a middleweight fighting at welterweight.

I'm a fan of both of these guys but honestly speaking Williams would beat most welterweights in the division including Cotto. I even think he would give the toughest fight to Floyd Mayweather, my #1 fighter.

A Southpaw that throws 100+ punches per round who is bigger than natural welterweights, reach of a heavyweight (82") and big height.

Parody have you watched many Mark Breland fights? Basically Breland was Williams's size, but fought orthodox, had a MUCH better jab and more power, more overall skill in every conceivable department, was one of the best US amateurs ever (something sick like 105-1), and yet shorter, more powerful WWs were able to break him down as a pro. All that length is a disadvantage especially against body punchers

True, but those guys punched harder than Williams as well. Not sure Williams throwing 100+ punches per round would work on his advantage against Cotto as he'll be able to come in and hurt Williams with shorter harder shots. Williams aint' very good going backwards, if Cotto gets him on the ropes he might cave Williams in, there's a lot of body there for Cotto, don't think he'll miss much. Margarito pretty much went head hunting, Cotto won't.

Williams will simply stop throwing those silly, girlish flurries.

How can you make a comparison though, they fight nothing alike in terms of style and Breland's chin let him down otherwise he was a very good boxer. Also people who have good amatuer backgrounds dont necassarily do well in Pro's, we have had many examples of that. Breland was quite good, but was'nt as active Williams is who throws 1000+ punches. Also Williams throws from odd angles, he is an awkward fighter and being a Southpaw is just an advantage for him. I like the way people say he has'nt got power yet he has stopped/ko'd 5 out of his last 6 opponents, the one he did'nt stop was Margarito and we all know Margarito has one of the best chins.

Margarito is known is a puncher and he hit Williams with Bodyshots, even Matthyse hit him hard, but Williams ability to take shots to the chin and body is what will take him a step above.
