    Sugar Shamed, Mostly

By Jingo Quijano, Sun.Star Cebu, Tue, 13 Nov 2007
THERE’S a certain kind of look that Miguel Cotto’s opponents get when they realize they’re in for a long night. It’s somewhat of a hybrid expression bordering between resignation and despair. I saw it in Zab Judah’s face after he realized Cotto was having him for lunch. I saw that very same look Read Full Story >>>

That is very unfair to Mosley. Something was shaky with him, and that was evident before he left the dressing room if you're familiar with Shane. He put on the best performance he could under the circumstances.

He didn't just opt to go out there and try to knock Cotto's head off, that was an adjustment once he realized he couldn't let his hands go and his timing was off. ANY Boxing cat could see that.

      Seriously.....

Shane's 36 years, hundreds of amateur fights, & numerous pro fights were more responsible for that "look" than anything Cotto did.
Mosley is still excellent. He will still greatly trouble just about any 147lber out there (as he did Cotto).....but he NO LONGER possesses that zip needed to really bring it, especially late in a fight.
This was a good performance by Cotto, but nothing like so many of his previous victories. (his body attack was completely nullified).

shane should've taken less amateur fights (20-30) and go straight pro.

he fought wayy too many amateurs fights.

Did those 20-30 fights happen after he attempted to make the '92 Olympic squad ?

I don't know the details of his career, but I imagine he had 20 fights already when he grew his first pubes.

he should have boxed intelligently against Cotto and he would have won. why the hell did he go toe to toe for 5 or 6 rounds whatever it was, against an inside fighter.

              Pure ******ity.

Shane Mosley has never really been a boxer. He can box very well in spurts, but has a slugger's mindset. He loves to fight, & part of you has to love him for that.
