Jack Mosley Talks Mayweather-Mosley, Hatton

Mayweather wanted the lion's share of the money, 5 million, and we are talking about back in 99, which was insane to demand.Mosley did moved up from 135 to 147 in 1999, Mayweather did called him out in 1999 when he was fighting at 130, I don't think Mosley wanted any part of Mayweather. Mosley wanted the big money fight with Oscar. We all know at 147 Mosley clearly said he will not fight Floyd.Comment

Shane also was reported to have asked for 10 million which was also insane. I don't which story is true. All I know is that they didn't fight then or at 147 because Shane wanted to take a vaction and then he had a tooth problem.Comment

Anyone who thinks Floyd ducked Shane at the lower weights is ****** and knows nothing about boxing. They were never really on the same level. Floyd didnt really truly come into his own until Shane had already moved up to WW and at that time Floyd was basically a kid while Shane was a prime stud who was clearly bigger. That matchup was so unrealistic at that time so I dont know why people keep talking about it.
In 99 Floyd was just 22, a small SFW, and had "just" won his 1st title. Shane was 28, a huge LW, had been a champ for a long time, and moving up 2 weight classes to secure the Oscar fight. They were nearly at the same level in terms of there careersLast edited by DLT; 11-13-2007, 02:31 PM.Comment

This was before the DLH fight. Shane fought him in 2000. Mosley wanted to fight Mayweather in his final appearance at 135. Mayweather should have taken the fight because Mosley would went through hell to make the weight. It's obvious he had some weight issues to jump from 135 straight to 147.Anyone who thinks Floyd ducked Shane at the lower weights is ****** and knows nothing about boxing. Why is it obvious he had some weight issues? He did have some but they werent enough to make him suck at 135. He couldve stayed there a few more fights. He moved up for Oscar. Sure he didnt fight Oscar 1st but he knew that if he moved up to WW then he could kill 2 birds with one stone. He could be at WW to make Oscar think even more about him and he could get some tuneups in before the fight. Its the same thing Floyd basically did. He completely moved up unaturaly just to try to get the fight with Oscar. Oscar has always said no to Floyd but Floyd figured if I moved closer to his weight then he would atleast have to start considering me.This was before the DLH fight. Shane fought him in 2000. Im the biggest Floyd fan there is and he may have had a chance but there wouldnt have been 1 person that wouldve picked Floyd over a Mosley who was much bigger, much stronger, had much more power, and was just as fast. This was a few fights before the Chico fight when people really knew how great he was. He's 22 against a prime killer like Shane? That would make no sense. No one wouldve made that fight if they managed Floyd. Floyd was still ahead of his time by having big fights against guys like Chico at that young age. Nowdays most guys dont start taking big fights until there 26 or more and there not even close to fighting guys like an undefeated Chico who was a killer.
After the Chico fight then it may have been possible but you couldnt do that fight in 99 before Floyd had really been tested at the elite levelComment

Thats why its good hes fighting ricky hatton and if he wins he should fight cotto. Doing that would eliminate that characteristic of him. But it all depends on floyd. I have a feeling hes gonna use that "he's not a big enough draw" excuse if a fight with cotto is proposed to him after the hatton fight(if he wins).Comment
