    Styles Make Fights

Here is an interesting take I have on a few possible matchups. I think Mayweather would beat Margarito, Margarito would beat Cotto, and Cotto would beat Mayweather.

I don't think Cotto's chin would hold up against a vicious puncher like Margarito. I was wincing at the power punching combinations Margarito throws against Golden Johnson. Yeah yeah, Johson isn't a top guy, but that was devastating. Margarito is pound for pound maybe the best finisher in the sport, and I don't think Cotto could hold up against that.

I don't think that Mayweather could handle the pressure of a Miguel Cotto. Cotto demonstrated a good enough jab to get inside against speedy guys, and that shoulder rolling defense doesn't work as well when a guy is bulling his way inside and ripping the body. Cotto is like a bigger stronger version of a prime Jose Luis Castillo.

Margarito isn't accurate enough to land against Mayweather, and Antonio is open to be hit with straight right hands which is Mayweather's best punch. Just the way that Margarito kind of fights with his chin up, I think that Mayweather would pick him apart.

We heard the same **** with Cotto Vs Judah.

Cotto took his best shots and still was standing.

**** Margarito. He better fight someone else before considering anyone like Mayweather,Cotto or Williams.

Knocking out Golden Schlong doesn't make you a vicious puncher. That being said Matg does have power and one hell of a chin.

Hatton would be able to get on the inside easier than Cotto, so this doesn't make sense unless you also think Hatton will beat Floyd. Cotto is not outboxing Floyd from a distance, nor would Floyd get hit with as many shots as Mosley and Judah did, so we'll just have to see how he handles Hatton's pressure, which is actually more consistent. I agree that Margarito would probably tko Cotto late also though..

Style makes fight but each fighter changes his style a bit to adapt the other fighters.

so you dont see the same fighter having the same gameplan in every fight for every person.

Fighters are doing what they trained mostly.

Mayweather is just so ****en quick, I think Cotto would have to change his style and not try to hut him down all night, maybe make him come forward a bit to have a good shot. I'll wait till after the Hatton fight to make a more accurate pick between Cotto and mayweather. As it stands now I see mayweather beating everyone at 147, except for Paul Williams. And I see Paul Williams vulnerable against a few guys at 147. This division is the best in boxing, no question

hahahaha, I have to see how he looks against hatton before I would make that kind of assesment. We'll see, if he lookis way outsized and as if he's slown down, then I might agree with that, otherwise i'd be hard pressed to do so.
