Seriously and this could happened. What would you think if Floyd clearly beats Hatton and then Cotto fights Oscar and loses? I get the sense on this board that no one really wants to see Oscar fight Cotto but I wouldnt mind it. I also get the sense that most think Cotto would own him. I however dont agree with that. I think some of the fears on here is that Cotto could fight Oscar and lose and that would just screw everything up. The new Golden Boy which is Cotto, would lose to the guy that Floyd just beat, would lose a year later, and would lose to the guy that people have been dissing Floyd about.
Even the people who think Cotto is a machine would have to admit that it is possible that Oscar could legitmatly win that fight. Then what would that say about Floyd? Also, once you lose then people immediatly change there opinions about you. Cotto would suddenly go from the undefeated star who is unbeatable to a guy who just lost to an Old Oscar and people would then say that he really lost to Shane. You know that would happened. Is anyone else scared to hear Oscar talk about Hatton? Its kind of freaky the way he's doing it. You almost get the feel that he has the judges rigged. It seems like he's sure Hatton is going to win and is already making the plans.
All of that aside though. Whats wrong with Cotto-Oscar? The Floyd fight will still be there and even bigger. Margarito could fight the winner of Williams/Cintron. Its also so funny to me to hear a guy like Dougie Fischer say that he thinks Margarito needs to do more to get a fight with a guy like Cotto now. What? This is the same guy that was ripping Floyd for this. Why did he deserve the Floyd fight? He was even less famous back then, like now he also had recently loss to Santos, and Floyd was far more accomplished then Cotto. That is such a crock to hear him say something like that when he was the total opposite when it was Floyd. Its also super funny to hear Arum keep dissing Floyd's fight with Oscar, saying that Oscar is not a figher anymore but I bet he jumps at a Oscar-Cotto fight. These guys contradict themselves all the time
