Is De La Hoya Still Capable Of Winning Big Fights?

What I'm saying is...do you think De La Hoya is still a legit fighter who is still a factor in the sport or more of like what Tyson was late in his career?(a guy who fights once a year and is really out of the picture but is still extremley popular)

Oscar can still win fights, but I don't think he'll be winning any more big ones. Like a Cotto, or the winner of Mayweather vs. Hatton.

I say you hit the nail on the head in the second part of you question. I know Oscar's still a very game opponent for any one 147-154. But as far as beating the prime young welter weights I just don't see it happening. De la hoya will fade down the stretch no doubt. That's one thing he has been consistent on. He's not as bad say like a Tyson late in his career. But hes popularity out weights his ability at this point. He's not near as fast as he was, and his bad stamina just seems to be getting worse. His last fight against Floyd, had a very average punch count and he was just gassed the last third of the fight.

I'd stop short at saying he'll defintely beat Cotto but I think he has a good chance and I also think he proved by having such a close fight with Mayweather that he is still a top level fighter.....I don't think he has shamed himself by still fighting in any way.
