I think Floyd has the right tools to beat Cotto

I was very impressed with Cotto's victory over the fast, talented yet aging Mosley last night. He showed great power shots to the body, pursued him with a relentless attack, and showed us that he has a decent chin. Based on cotto's last two fights, i see many weaknesses that would be exposed by pbf. First was the gruesome uppercuts that Judah landed during their fight, and even though he couldn't stop cotto, it was clear that he was stunned and even had his knees buckled. Floyd uses the right uppercut regularly in his arsenal, especially after brushing off the opponent's right hand with his elbow.

Shane caught Cotto numerous times with his straight right, although doing minimal damage despite the monster shots. We all know pbf has that Pot-shot style with his straight right, and will catch Cotto with it all night.

I am a little concerned about Cotto's constant pressuring and clinching/punching technique, however. This stands to pose as the major obstacle for Floyd to come out of the fight with a "W". I was suprised with Cotto's handspeed last night, but i don't think that was what caused problems for Mosley. I think that Cotto's stalker/creeper style with addition of his overwhelming power put Mosley in an uncomfortable position. Floyd. however, has great ring generalship and boxing knowledge, and will make any necessary adjustments needed.

As far has Floyd getting knocked out, i don't believe Cotto can acheive this feat. Floyd is suspect to the body shot, but regardless of what type of shot lands or where, he has always responded well. Perfect example comes from the Corley fight. I think that the Fight with Hatton will tell us a lot about how a match with cotto would go. If Floyd manages to defeat Hatton decisively, then there is without a doubt in my mind that Floyd would destroy Cotto. If Floyd struggles, then the same will go with Cotto.

Btw, major props to Cotto for the close win. I personally saw it no better than a draw for Mosley. Impressed with Mosley also, with the exception of his defense.

something ive notice is that cottos arms are to spread with his gloves just covering his forehead..his last 2 fights, judah and mosley hit him with some serious uppercuts and everyone knows, mayweather showcases a right uppercut right after he shoulders the right hand..that punch can set cotto off his plan, possibly cut him real bad, and have him retreating with blood goin down his throat like what happened yesterday..mayweather MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE be able to TKO him...if not, mayweather decisions him..something like castillo mayweather 2 or the first 6 rounds against baldomir...
