    Why does this always happen?

Why is it that everytime there is a close fight between two highly respected guys in this sport, and the decision goes to the guy who did the most work, everybody on the other side stands up and shouts robbery? Why can't we just get over these damn decisions. Cotto won, hands down. 7 rounds to 5 in most experts eyes.

Mosley did damn good at his age but he simply didn't do enough to win. None of your bitching and arguing will ever change the record book, and shouting robbery is an insult to real robberies like Santa Cruz and Casamayor, or De La Hoya and Trinidad. I think some of you guys don't even know what a robbery is.

Some people just can't admit that Cotto is a good fighter.

I mean the fight was close, but when Cotto was moving back he was countering as well, and landed the cleaner shots.

Agreed, I was a pretty outspoken critic of Cotto being a one trick pony even though I picked him to beat Mosley. But he showed me a lot last night and it was hard not to be impressed, Miguel is the real deal.

Only thing I disagree with here is that "Cotto did more work", but you're absolutely right. To call such a close fight, a "robbery", is a disgrace. Obviously an over used term..

It wasn't even a controversial decision it was just a close fight that could have gone either way. I couldn't see Cotto losing a decision even if it looked like Mosley was doing though.

I think the reason the term is so over-used around here is because a large population of the user base here are probably recent fans. I'd be surprised if many of the newer members have a boxing history that goes back before the year 2003. So they really don't have any idea of what a real robbery is, although they should because if they saw the Santa Cruz fight last night that was a fine example.
