    Haye sets sights on Maccarinelli

David Haye has thrown down the gauntlet to WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli after the Londoner knocked down Jean-Marc Mormeck to win the WBC and WBA titles in Paris.

The 27-year-old insists any potential fight with the Welshman will have to take place at heavyweight level and admits he will have no qualms about taking on Maccarinelli on his home turf.

"I'd go anywhere to fight him," Haye told Setanta Sports. "I've come to Paris to fight him (Mormeck) and I'd love to go to Cardiff. It would be a great fight for the fans - let's make it happen."

Londoner Haye was on the canvas himself in the fourth round but forced a stoppage in the seventh.

"We got it right at the training camp," he added.

"I showed class, patience, and showed what you have to show to be a great fighter.

"The old David Haye would have got stuck in and ran out of steam - I had to pace myself."

So Haye will fight Macca at HW if Macca agrees. Why not?

How can anyone possible expect this fight to ever happen at heavweight when Enzo is not a natural heavyweight?

Haye has been plying his trade at cruiserweight for a while now, so that is where it ought to take place.

Enzo has never fought at Heavy, so how can anyone expect him to jump up there?

Macca said on the same show that he wont fight Haye at Heavy.

Macca walks around at 200lb, Haye at 225lb.

I don't think it will happen, Haye has said he doesn't like making the weight for cruiserweight and Maccarinelli wont step up to Heavyweight just yet.

macca wont go to heavywieght because he nos wat chances he has lie at cruiserwieght. maccrinelli should off accepted the 100000 purse offer last year (a career best at the time) from frank maloney to get the fight on. frank warren and the fact he wanted options on haye should he win stopped this fight from ever happening
