Margarito DONT deserve Cotto next!

many people here are saying oh wow margarito vs cotto should be next. but why? Cotto just defeated a great names Sugar Shane Mosely and Margarito tko'd a sorry bum named Golden Schlong????? man Golden Schlong didnt even do nothing but become a punching bag target for margarito. margarito got schooled by the green yet well deserved Paul Williams.

if anything Paul Williams deserves a fight with cotto more than margarito.

Cotto should fight Punisher or Cintron next or even take an easy fight next cuz damn man Cotto been having all hard fights ever since i can remember. Give the man an easy KO bum like Golden Schlong so we all can laugh at next hahaha.

I agree with you Margarito needs to prove himself worthy against better fighters first. Plues bigger names will be calling for Cotto.

Funny how people move those goalposts back when Tony's name gets mentioned. He lost to Williams in a close fight. After watching the freakishly tall and fast Williams, I'm inclined to think that most guys at WW would lose to this guy.

When there is money in the pot, order goes out the window. Mayweather/DLH was about money. It wasnt about boxing. A true fan of the sport would rather see Mayweather fight someone good thats his age or younger. I admit, I was curious about Mayweather/Judah as I am about the Hatton fight. mayweather claims he will clear out the division in 4 more fights... I'll beleive it when I see it. If he does that, then we can crown him as one of the greatest we've seen, not before. It looks like he's gonna have to go thru Williams and/or Margarito to do it...

BTW, I think Margarito whether deserved or not will get a crack at Cotto before Mayweather, making him the WBA champ. Williams will mop up Cintron in early 2008. Then we will see if Mr. Mayweather is a man of his word and tries to unify. Cant say that the money wont be there this time. My money is on him retiring or saying that a rematch with DLH or Hatton is much more lucrative. Still Ricky Hatton can end all of this speculation on December 8th with a well time left hook.

It was a keep busy fight. Mayweather has had many keep busy fights in the past years. So has Mosley. Its funny how we dont criticize these guys when they take a keep busy fight, on pretty short notice. The Golden Johnson fight was also, more importantly for exposure on a major PPV card. It was good business. He won impressively, so the casual fan got to see him. Plus after the fight, he named names.

Cotto/Mosley was an event. It was not your typical PPV. Casual observers attend, EVENTS, as a night out. Almost like a rock concert. To a casual observer, who isnt a real boxing fan, attending an event and witnessing a brutal KO like the one Tony served up, would be very satisfying. They may go as far as to remember that guys name. When he fights again, get to see another KO.


I guess Tony doesnt get a pass for taking a safe business fight like so many others do...

It takes little fights to make big fights. Not every match can be a superfight. Johnson (your shlong line is tired) is a reasonable comeback opponent for an undercard. Assuming you are reasonable of course.

Because golden beat a "top prospect" that was on a 18 more or less fight win streak, who had already beat Jesse Feliciano -a fighter that is getting a title shot- among other fighters.
