I got harrassed in my thread, but I stick with my assessment of the fight. On that note, Shane is done. I can't see him beating Cotto in a rematch or any of the other welters at the top of the food chain.. or even Oscar (if that was a reality). Guys, Shane trained for the fight of his life and was gassing half way through and was being a good bit outsmarted offensively by what was supposed to be an opponent not even on his level.

Just as I did with my post about Calzaghe last week, I will give props to Cotto he's a pretty good fighter. Like Calzaghe, I'm not a fan of Cotto's but I repsect his fight game. To me and a lot of the guys watching the fight in my vicinity, it seemed as though Mosley just got old. He's 36 and he has technical flaws that his speed hid for a very long time. Now just like RJJ his technical skills aren't enough to keep him elite now that his speed is winding down. I really like Shane and I was ready to make him my new favorite boxer in the game, but now it just seems as though he must sadly pass the torch on to the younger fighters. He went out like a true warrior though fighting and never giving up regardless of how tough it got, but it definitely is time for him to say farewell.

It's up to him. I think he could still give the top welterweights competitive fights. Saying that, as I said before, he could'nt get his combinations off at crucial times in the fight. He was throwing punches one punch at a time and missed quite a few openings and he wasn't able to slip as many punches as he did when he was younger. But ultimately it's up to him and Jin. Or the other way round.

Mosley looked great for 36. Some fighters are washed up by that age, Sugar Shane ain't. He might not be what he was, but he's still something and can compete in a tough Welterweight division.

He isn't what he was in his prime and that's fine. He's done some great things and he has nothing left to prove.

nah Mosley shouldn't hang them up but that depends on if he is still encouraged to fight, he already hung them up even if he decides to fight again as long as 1% of his hunger is missing, it was his hunger that allowed for him to make it threw this fight and Mosley got hit with some BIG bombs, he should have gone down and didn't, he showed enough fortitude to fight again but if he lost any edge off his hunger and momentum he's done, it can only downplay his legacy to fight another fight with even 1% less hunger, at this stage Shane needs to bring it ALL or nothing at all, no 2 ways about it.. do I think he should retire? no, does Shane think he should retire? I think we need to wait and see later this week. 100
