My Honest take on Mosley VS Cotto

Most here know Ive been talking up a big game for Shane in this fight. I was 99.9% certain of him coming out with the victory.

I DO feel shane won a close decision. They both landed exact same amount punches. Shane threw more. Cotto landing more jabs. and shane landing more of the power punches. I also thought shane bringing the pressure for the last 4 rounds of the fight is what also helped seal the fight for him along with the punchstat numbers. (usually who lands more of the power shots in a fight when the compubox total punches are so close, the fight would normally go to who landed more power shots.)

Cotto did show me he can box though, and is better than I thought.

Anyways eventhough I thought Shane won a very close decision.. I still wouldnt of been satasfied if the judges were to give him the nod. He was not at all the Shane Mosley I was expecting and remember. It just wasnt there. I wouldnt want the shane that fought tonight to step int he ring with mayweather.. He is just not what he once was.. I am a big mosley fan but realized his time where he would of been dominant has passed...

Most definately, that has to be said. For the life of me I couldn't understand why Shane wasn't doing anything in the initial round. That was telling.

There was something off and I could see it when he was still in the dressing room. All that light and energy he had this last week was completely gone. Dare I say; I KNEW things weren't going to go well before the fight started.

Either way Cotto was going to give him a very tough and determined challenge and although this fight was clearly winnable for Mosley (if he had done more to be honest), that little bit of shortcoming was enough. Cotto was FAST, accurate, and intelligent. Very impressive.

ha im gonna have to repet this post:

man...this fight reminded me the corrales-casamayor fight....even though it was close and shane was looking good at moments like chico, but he could never pull the trigger at the right moment...props to cotto though he's always been one of my fave fghters...i just like shane a lot more....i hope shane retires for good, i didnt like what i saw today...especially reminding me of chico

                EDIT:

i had the fight a draw BTW...mexican media had Mosley winning by a point evn though they were rooting for Cotto at the beggining, because of their relationship with TopRank....but they kept it real i enjoyed the mexican tranmission of the fight....surprising...
