I really expected Mosley to win, even in a somewhat dominant fashion.
I've got to say, Cotto impressed me alot tonight.
Those puppies who convinced me Cotto had a weak chin; Stop drinking paint.
I was also impressed by the way Cotto got into Shane's head, proven by the tensity that Mosley fought with for the first 2 rounds.
He spent alot of energy doing nothing but being there.
The speed of Mosley was nullified by his tensity and overfocusing on single powershots, which was disappointing really.
When it comes to bodypunching, I've got this to say about Cotto;
That man has some seriously large stones hiding under his trunks.
Some of those bodyshots from Shane would have made heavyweights cry...
Also, I've got to give credit to Cotto's boxing ability and cool head under fire.
Didn't expect him to be man enough to back off when he needed to, but he proved me wrong in that area too.
The jab was his most effective punch, and it stopped Mosley from firing more than one shot at a time.
However, I think Mosley fought kind of ****** at times.
Why he didn't step to the side to counter that looong jab not even once in the whole fight, I will never know.
Maybe it's just me mixing up my own style and strategies with Mosley's style, but I seem to remember Shane being utterly fantastic at sidestepping a punch and countering to the body and head with blistering combinations...
Anyways, brilliant display of versatility and ring smarts by Cotto, which makes me like the guy so much more.
Clearly I underestimated him, so sorry for that. I'm pretty close to perfect, but there are days like these...
