High tape on Evangelista's fighters

I am just watching the stream on yahoo of the undercard fights and all fighters in Evangelista Cotto's stable have their gloves taped up really high and tight. I also noticed Miguel Cotto with this before, does anyone know why Evangelista makes all his fighters do this and is there any advantage tapin the gloves like that.

its supposed to push the knuckles up in the glove so the punches are harder. barrera did it in the 2nd fight withh juarez. its called skinning the gloves.
