David Haye was delighted with his eye-catching victory over Jean-Marc Mormeck in Paris but is looking forward to leaving the cruiserweight division.
The Englishman was sent crashing to the deck in round four before a seventh-round stoppage earned him the WBA and WBC belts.
However, Haye feels he is too weak at this level and wants to move up to heavyweight status.
"I think what I want to say is you saw an explosive fight there," he told Setanta Sports.
"You saw me very weight-trained in there. As he hit me with the shot, my legs went completely. My legs felt really shaky but I thought okay, I'm a champion, I've got heart so I'll get up and work my way through it.
"This guy is a big puncher. I could feel it each time he hit me. But I've been working really hard in North Cyprus in a training camp and we got it right perfectly.
"This guy was tough and a great cruiserweight but I showed class and patience and showed what I have to show to be the number one fighter in the world.
"We worked on a strategy and I held it together. The old David Haye would've got stuck in and ran out of steam.
"With the weight, I knew I had to pace myself, something I won't have to do at heavyweight once I'm up there. I'll be able to throw a lot more punches and won't have to take off two stone before a fight.
"This is my last cruiserweight fight and I'm delighted to have got the win. I'm representing everyone in Britain. Joe Calzaghe's number one, I'm number one and let's hope Ricky Hatton can take the title off Floyd Mayweather and we'll have three of the top fighters in the world."
