Casamayor vs. Santa Cruz. Your Pick?

OK, aside from the huge fight tonight, on the undercard we have a battle for the Ring Magazine Lightweight belt. I'm expecting this poll to be one-sided for Casamayor, but we'll see. Who you got?

I think Santa Cruz will do alot better than most are thinking.

Not sure if he will do enough to win but Casamyor is in for a tough night.

On the undercard, Cruz's chances at pulling the upset are the best of anybodys.

But Casamayor should take this. SHould be a bit entertaining. Casamayors age might have caught up to him, especially since he's coming off a 13 month layoff

Cas is going to struggle due to the long layoff. EVERYONE struggles when their is a long layoff but I think once he get's back into the groove of things he will outclass Cruz.

Yeah with the layoff Casamayor probably will come out slow and Santa Cruz could steal some early rounds, but Casa will eventually peel the rust off and win the late rounds. He's just a better fighter.

i could see santa cruz taking a close dec win over casa
if casa takes to long to get into his groove due to the layoff

should be a good fight santa cruz is a aggressive fighter and should give casa plenty opportunities to counter

ko, tko is out of the question for Casamayor unless Santa Cruz is done as a fighter, even if Casamayor wanted to impress Santa Cruz as tall as he is will remind Casamayor of his battles with Corrales, r.i.p. Cruz ain't Corrales but he enjoys a close combate toe to toe. This one can go either way, Casamayor is getting old and hasn't fought in a long time, i can see the upset but i doubt it.

I expect a pretty wide UD for Casa. I think he may give away some early rounds and he will get in his groove and dominate.

Pretty good test to see how much Casamayor has left.

The long layoff obviously isn't going to help, but agree with most that Casamayor should go on to win a solid decision after a rough start.

Should! Whether he does or not & how he looks will be interesting.

The thing is, if he does get back into his regular groove & look pretty impressive, he may end up in exactly the same position, with nobody willing to fight him.

Stuck on the sidelines for another year or so with all the other major players in the division hoping he really will just fade away this time.
