Did the golden high-tech shoes give Cotto the edge or not?

Recalling the slip that led the ref to stop the action to have the canvass wiped, does that slip mean the shoes did not work as it was designed to do? Or, the shoes worked and it was what saved Cotto...

Or, was it that the shoes were not really tested at all because Mosley landed a punch that the ref missed? So, the slip or near-slip was not either of those at all?

no de la hoya did not get the nod thats the awful part. he did the same thing with a bigger lead and lost. cotto had a small lead and ran and still won. puerto ricans must have a lot of sway in judging.
