Sascha: The Oak is going down!

WBO #2 heavyweight Alexander "Sascha" Dimitrenko had an unusual kind of training session in advance of his big November 17 "Universum Champions Night" against 'The German Oak' Timo Hoffmann at the Bördelandhalle in Magdeburg, Germany. In a special preparation for this important WBO Intercontinental fight, "Sascha" got some practice by chopping down a giant oak tree in the Sachsenwald near Hamburg, the largest private forest in the north owned by the Bismarck family.

Under the guidance of lumberjack Bernd Steinhauer from the Claus Rodenberg Company, Dimitrenko made the decisive cuts with a STIHL MS 441 chainsaw. The oak fell quickly and accurately in accordance with the predetermined cuts. Like in boxing, professional preparation with professional equipment and the right tools is always a prerequisite.

"It was fun to chop down that oak," said Dimitrenko enthusiastically but also thoughtfully. "With the right practice and the right tool it was almost like child's play. But at the same time it can also be dangerous when this giant tree falls. A person should only do this with professional guidance and always have a great respect. These trees have been standing for 140 to 160 years, and now I brought one down in five minutes. Anyway, now the winter can come. I have enough firewood and after the fight against Timo 'The German Oak' Hoffmann it will warm me up at home in front my nice cozy fireplace!"
This kid looks like a promising prospect and from some of his fights that I have seen he has a killer jab and has good technical skills.
