Negotiations Begin For Hopkins vs. Calzaghe

Promoter Frank Warren informed The Guardian that he's begun negotiations for a bout between WBC/WBA/WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe (44-0, 32 KOs) and recognized light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (48-4-1, 32 KOs). Warren has already spoken with Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaeffer and says the early talks look good.

they looked good the last time and the camps reached an agreement. Then Hopkins stepped in and doubled his demands. Dont get excited- he wont fight JC this time either. He knows only a fighter in his prime has any chance of beating Joe.

to all you who are obsessed with the idea that if this fight doesn't happen its Benard's fault, well i just read on another website that calzaghe is very close to signing a deal to fight woods if hopkins doesn't sign in 7 days. if calzaghe does that he is a ***** in my opinion.

10-0. And it's for a damn reason too.

Good to see another smart poster not blinded by the Calzaghe love affair as of late. My money is on Hopkins, UD, 116-112. Calzaghe will not be prepared for the games Hopkins will play with him.

Hopkins won't fight in England. If Joe wants Hopkins to bend in the money than he may have to negotiate coming to America. If he doesn't, I don't see this fight happpening because i don't see B-Hop taking this fight in England.
