Fighters that fans hate for silly reasons

I'm just watching some Larry Holmes fights right now, just randomly felt the need to watch Holmes at 4 in the morning and man, people ****ing hated this guy didnt they, nothing he did was good enough, he was a loud mouth trash talker who said he was the best ever, and rocky couldnt carry his jockstrap. Think of everyone he has beat, and fought, and gave hard fights to, i think Larry is prob one of the best fighters ive seen and always been a big fav of mine, but feel he never got the respect he deserved just because of his outside the ring actions OR maybe it was because he battered ali what do you guys think

Well.. when you're a loud-mouth and insult fighters from the past who can't get in the ring to prove you wrong, you're bound to have criticism, because even you can't back the claim up. It's making a claim to something that will never be proven or disproven. That ****s annoying. Otherwise, he was a great fighter, in my opinion.

A fighter, today, who gets hated on, for a silly reason is Alfonzo Gomez. Yes, he was on a reality show. Big deal. He was there with naturally bigger and stronger guys and won the bronze medal. Since then, he's stepped up and excelled and people still give him ****. Makes no sense.

Yea, i can see your point i'm sure it must get annoyin for some people i personaly like it, i do the same in the gym, not one boxer in the world is in boxing to say they are second best, everyone thinks they are the best and some people just say it a little more "rude" than others day, Larry Holmes IMO would beat Rocky

Holmes is one of my fav fighters also and very underated or unappreciated.

I think this was because of the Ali fight, the trash talking and the fact he was sandwiched inbetween possibly the 2 most exciting heavyweights ever in Ali and Tyson.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I find nothing wrong with it. I was just playing Devil's Advocate. If you fight like a great fighter, I see nothing wrong with the claims. I was just saying what others might be thinking.

Man I know Ali fans enjoyed watching Mike Tyson KO Larry thats for sure.
