I love to know what some of the more knowledgable people on this site have to say about this issue, I may be not well enough informed but I have always been of the opinion that Don King put a dark cloud over boxing, with corruption and controversy. I have heard this from other people as well. So my question is did don king have anything to do with the decline of boxing, and is the reason that there is an upswing in the sport due at all to him declining in presence? And if he did have such an influnence what and why was it? And if this is just a rumor among people or are at most casual observers, why was this tag given to him. Just curious. I for one seem to think the connection between the publics view and success of the sport seems eerily close to the rise and departure of Don King.
Don King and his effect on the sport.

He's not the reason for the dark cloud over boxing. Promoters THROUGHOUT boxing have ripped off fighters. He just didn't do **** to help the issue. -
Don King is merely one of many in the line of sleazy people in boxing.
his scummy presence is nothing compared to the 1950s when frankie carbo was the most important figure in boxing.Comment
