chavez didn't win. he got a gift draw.

Perhaps the worst injustice suffered by an Ottke opponent came in 2003 when UK-based Robin Reid was brought in under the perception of a name opponent on the slide. What Team Ottke didn't anticipate was a resurrected Reid looking to turn back the clock. What Reid didn't anticipate was fighting more than Ottke in the ring once the opening bell rang.

In one of the worst cases of officiating in recent history, Reid was docked a point in the sixth round and warned throughout the bout for the heinous crime of punching his opponent. A knockdown late in the bout was ignored, as was Reid's dominance over the course of twelve rounds by all three judges, neutral on paper (from Switzerland, Italy and United States) but just not on the kind that noted their ridiculous scorecards, all in favor of Ottke. The bout was investigated by the IBF, at the cost of $10,000 by Jess Harding, Reid's promoter, though Reid never received justice, or a rematch
I've never seen this fight and I can't get over how the ref justified deducting a point here. Can someone here describe the scene in which this happened?...

Reid/Ottke was appalling. At least Lewis didn't lose to Holyfield when he was screwed.

It was no worse than Trinidad/De La Hoya.

here are some of the worst robberies in boxing history:

                  alfredo escalera-tyrone everett
                  evander holyfield-lennox lewis 1
                  juan coggi-eder gonzalez 1
                  ad wolgast-mexican joe rivers
I very much doubt you qualify to label someone a newbie if you've only been a member since september.

A mention of the SRL Hagler fight in this thread was never going to be popular. SRL was never going to trade or box at close range for long spells, and because of that, it could be percieved that he won most of the fight running.

Also, he title of the thread was "Biggest Robbery's" and not "Worst".

I like you, Divad, but don't put an apostrophe in "robberies" again, okay?

alright, "newbies to the sport of boxing", instead of "newbies to the forums on boxing scene"

regardless, some of those fights have no business being in the "biggest" robberies in the history of the sport when people still evenly argue who won the fight.
