So long as he beats Reid, he'd be better off fighting for one of the vacant belts. Isn't he mandatory for the WBC?

Froch vs Kessler would be good. There's a lot of a young Calzaghe in Froch. Not as good obviously, but it's between him, Bute and Kessler in the division once Calzaghe moves up.

I believe Jürgen Brähmer is the wbc mandatory and Froch is 2.

If Froch beats Reid and wins the European in Feb he's back to WBC #1

Brahmer knocked out Ricky Hatton in the amateurs and also beat Felix Sturm and CARL FROCH (but that was 11 years ago)

When Froch gets schooled by Lucien Bute (if and when they fight), this talk of a Calzaghe fight will be long forgotten.

European? **** the European. There's 3 vacant World belts for the taking after this fight. If he has any ambition he'll be targeting one of those .... WBC I presume.
