    JMM: I want Pacquiao

By Mike T. Limpag, Sun.Star Cebu, Mon, 05 Nov 2007
JUAN Manuel Marquez retained his WBC super featherweight title and is now eyeing the biggest fish in the division—Filipino boxing dynamo Manny Pacquiao. Marquez defeated Rocky Juarez, who fought and lost to Marco Antonio Barrera twice, by unanimous decision after using his right hand to score im Read Full Story >>>

Hopefully this happens. His chances are better against JMM than against Baby Bull.

If anything Pacqiuao should be eyeing the rematch with JMM not the other way around. JMM beat him already. I guess since it was controversial he may want it to prove a win undoubtedly but for some reason the idea of this fight just does not excite me, plus I was not impressed with Manny's last performance. Who knows though, with the way that Marquez systematically dismantled Juarez he may be able to pick Pacqiuao apart as his age definitely did not show Saturday night.

You can't blame Pacquiao's last perfomance on his completely. Barrera was not willing to engage and tried to outbox Pacuiao. But Pacquiao ended up outboxing Barrera.

Now...if you recall, the first half of Barrera vs JMM, Barrera was winning (IMO) until JMM caught him. Something to think about. Pacquiao out boxed Barrera. Barrera nearly outboxed JMM. Yes, I know styles make fights....but let's remember that Pacquiao is still a big ****er at 130 and has been able to knock people out.

I agree with you and I don't blame Pacquiao entirely but you have to admit he was not as aggressive as he usually is. Sure Barrera may have outboxed JMM initially but lets remember who outboxed Pacquaio to get that decision in the past. Its entirely plausible for that same scenario to play out again. I guess all I'm saying is in Manny's last fight, that ferocity wasn't exhibited and think that needs to be there, along with some skillful boxing, to take out JMM. I just don't think Manny beats JMM at his own game. Make sense?

i cant help but to think of the 3 KD in the first round, its a disaster waiting to happen... marquez has to fight safe in that fight.

This is a genuine super fight, for it is anyways, we get to see Pac against a prime world class boxer, not just a brawler, no one i know at 130 can brawl with pac, youve got Jab and move him for 12 rounds, plus marquez has nice power too.

Pacquiao has improved his boxing skills since his draw against JMM. Honestly, as much as I'm a fan of Pac, I thought he lost that fight. But this is a different Pac from the 1-2 puncher we saw back then. He still sloppy but he gets the job done. None of his fights have been easy, as some of his detractors have complained.

The X-factor: Pacquiao is starting to get too big for 130 and is struggling to keep his muscles from growing and therefore, gain weight. If he goes into a fight with JMM drained and exhausted, it's going to be a win for JMM.

Agreed and I think that's very possible since he's having trouble making weight at this point. So who would you opt he fight? Personally, if he were to move up to lightweight I would like to see him fight Juan Diaz or Michael Katsidis. I think Diaz gives him the fight of his life and I think Katsidis poses a hair less of a challenge but a slugout nonetheless. Diaz over Pacman, Pacman over Katsidis unless Katsidis' defense has improved and he has learned how to incorporate a jab.
