    Calzaghe in fourth place running
I agree with you with the exception that I would also put Mosley ahead of Joe IF he can beat Cotto. He would then have wins over Collazo and Cotto.

I think Pavlik or the winner of PBF-Hatton will get the nod, since they did accomplish some great things this year. Calzaghe and the winner of Cotto-Mosley is a close third though.

I love Calzaghe, but the fighter of the year is Kelly Pavlik hands down.

Pavlik vs Zertuche - Pavlik KO 8

Pavlik vs Miranda - Pavlik KO 7

Pavlik vs Taylor - Pavlik KO 7

That pretty much sums it up right there.

sorry but miranda and zertuche were not p4p when pavlik fought them. good wins but hardly fighter of the year stuff. the fact that miranda had been down in his previous fight and how weak he looked against pavlik takes the luster off that victory

Zertuche - ranked Middleweight with an iron chin that had never been down before, Pavlik puts him down twice and knocks him out cold in the 8th.

Miranda - one of the biggest punchers in the Middleweight division and a force to be reckoned with, Pavlik takes all of Miranda's best shots, dominates him and knocks him down 3 times on route to a 7th round KO. Don't give me those bull**** excuses about Miranda being weight drained, Pavlik has a harder time than anybody making 160 and you don't see him whining and complaining.

Taylor - Pavlik knocks the Undisputed Middleweight champion and top p4p fighter out cold in the 7th round. Pavlik is the new undisputed Middleweight champion of the world.

Kelly Pavlik is the clear cut fighter of the year hands down, anybody who dosen't think so is either a Pavlik hater or a racist.

Right now it will be Calzaghe or Pavlik, but I think if Floyd beats Ricky convincingly, wins over DLH and an undefeated Hatton are worthy of FOTY.

If Cotto beats Mosley. Then I think it could be him. But Floyd has had a pretty good year so far.

who gets fighter of the year is usually the guy with the most growth. Pavlik was very unknown in 2007, and all of a sudden he started knocking out guys like Miranda, who was a favorite over him, and Jermain Taylor. thats a statement.

on the other hand, Floyd is in some of the biggest fights weve seen for a while. If Hatton-Mayweather turns out to be a really really big fight, Floyd might get it just for being in two giant fights. but it really depends on how well(or not) he deals with Hatton.

I personally would choose Pavlik either way. but popularity sure as hell influences awards like this, and if Hatton-Mayweather is a huge fight, he might get it anyway. and also, if Hatton were to beat Mayweather...big if but...if he did, he would be in the conversation too.
