I agree with you, alot of non-mexicans who are fans of boxing here in the U.S have this big misconception that mexicans are huge on boxing. From my own experience, the majority of businesses I've worked for we always have had a good percentage of mexican employees and i've only met one mexican that actually followed boxing, the rest don't give a rat's #ss, they know of the names DLH and Chavez and that's about it. No different than us Americans, who hardly follow boxing anymore, we only know the names Tyson and Ali.
Why was the crowd yelling "rocky sucks" ??

but i do find it strange that they would rather cheer for JMM than for their coutryman Rocky...considering most of them only see boxing as a race thing...guess it makes you look more mexican if you root for the mexican
(im talking about very casual fans here, real followers would obviously have enough knowledge of the boxers to like whoever they want more...)

the thing that most bthers me about people thinking boxing is big in mexico is that they try to use it as an excuse to say a lot of mexico's population are boxers and thats why theres a lot of mexican champions.......i bet boxers are a VERY LOW percentage of the population....Comment
