Joe Calzaghe The Biggest Fraud In Boxing History?

How has he managed to duck or not fight bernard hopkins, winky wright, shane mosley, oscar de la hoya, jermain taylor, cory spinks. and maybe kelly pavlik and john duddy. all of which would be able to move up a weight division or joe can go down.

His legacy is definitly questionable in my eyes because he has not fought what i would class as tough opposition for him.

    Your thoughts?
And how has he managed to duck so many fights?

He's still a home champ imo. Probably one of the greatest British fighters of this era, but that's about it. He doesn't hold a candle to the names mentioned above, except the newer faces like Duddy, Pavlik, Spinks, and Taylor. The guy never even left his country for crying out loud and never beat any decent American champs other than Jeff Lacey, who does nothing for your legacy.

Hopkins' wins over tarver and Wink were a lot more impressive than Lacy and Kessler..

Let's take one name - Hopkins. Hopkins signed to fight him a few years back, then pulled out. Did you know that? I suspect not.

I'd of been more willing to bet you five years ago, but would still pick B-Hop.. If you'd like to bet that B-Hop is priority consensus choice for hall of fame over Calzaghe, then we can bet that.

                lol.......

Bernard? Bernard turned down an offer to fight zag.
Winky? he fought at 154 his entire career, genius. was fighting all over europe and only got his big break against mosley a couple years ago.
                shane mosley? please...........started at 135..
                dlh? started at 126.....
jermain? he's been a decent star for a year now.
spinks? former welterweight. has fought only as high as 160...ONE SINGLE TIME.
kelly pavlik? hasn't even been on the boxing radar. only until his win over taylor has fans started to actually notice.
john duddy? please. his biggest win is over oba car.

There is no way Calzaghe could move down to 160 lbs.
I think Calzaghe has really turned up his quality of opposition since fighting Lacy, though before that i did not think too much of him. Also it seemed to me that Calzaghe did not go out of his way to fight the other champs, the other champs wanted the glory and seeked it, but calzaghes skill surpasses his ambition.

Bernard has never ducked Calz and even at 43 is willing to fight him. Not to mention that his wins are of a much higher quality and he cleaned out his division a lot earlier. He actually beat HOFers and p4p fighters, while Calz has beat none. He has never beaten a fighter who was ranked in the top ten p4p, let alone a HOFer. Both Winky and Hops have. Nuff said.
