  • Despite losing, does Kessler still crack your top 10 lb4lb?

Kessler is truly a great fighter and showed that he's made of the stuff of champions last night. The fight was competitive throughout and Kessler taking that 12th round showed the immense internal fortitude of the quality opponent that he was. I really think he will bounce back easily from this upstanding loss which no doubt gained him a lot of fans and terrorize everyone at in and around his weight class except Joe Calzaghe of course. As of now, even in defeat I have him at number 10 on my lb4lb list and he deserves to be there.

No way. If he wasn't in it at 39-0 why the hell would he be in at 40-1?????

True, but this was before we saw the two best super middles in the world fight like we did last night. A lot was proven last night that we didn't know before. It was proven that Calzaghe is truly a GREAT fighter and seeing as how Kessler put up a great performance, this warrants his place on the list if not breakign the top ten, then surely he hovers very close to it. This guy is fun to watch and very skilled.

He deserves to be ahead of Pavlik and Taylor in my book.

Actually I had Kessler at #9 before the fight.

After the fight, although he put up a great performance, think he should drop down a few places to around 11.

Think the only people who will come close to him after Joe moves up will be Pavlik & Bute, & would edge Kessler over either.

lol, Slopkins, a guy who lost twice to a guy who just got iced by Pavlik is 3 spots higher than Calzaghe who is a 10 year champion and just beat a tough opponent in his prime? Maybe it's my personal bias against Slopkins, but I think many more would agree.

I didn't know Kessler had 2 fights in one night, one of which was a win. That being said why would he even be considered for the p4p list after losing when he wasn't on the list when he was winning?

                    O'rly?

The same Hopkins who captured the Undisputed LHW title at 42? Yeah when was it he was iced again? Are you talking about being jobbed against Taylor in the first fight winning 115-113? Or the what should have been a draw in the second. How about the fact that he roughed up the #2 at worst P4P fighter in the sport in Wright at 42?
