most people would pick Calzaghe, and for good reason. his punch output and speed would be hell for Hopkins. but on the other hand...

Calzaghe has trouble in rough, ugly fights. This is something Hopkins knows exactly how to do. Calzaghe had a bit of trouble against Bika. Joe kind of has awesome performances in big fights and bad ones in small fights though, thats how his career always has been. So maybe he had an off night.

but if there was a fighter that could spoil Calzaghe's style, Hopkins is the one. I would pick Calzaghe though

Well it's a case of two spoilers. Calzaghe's style is to spoil the opponent's style. So, we're probably looking at a rather ****ty fight to tell you the truth. I think Cal ought to look for somebody else. Hopkins is a nowhere fight for Cal, IMO. IF he wins, he beat an old man. IF Hopkins wins, accolades galore. He should consider a younger contender or even Kelly Pavlik. Now there's a fight that would be watched with interest.

IMa Say BHop by KO in Round 11. He's needs a KO badly, and he always stepped up to knock Tito & ODLH. He'll counterpuch and being much more wise in the ring then Kessler was. I was a little pissed at Kessler, in those middle rounds he was hitting at like a 40-50% ratio, but just wasn't punching. Just let your arms go. Bhop will have a plan and it will work. I like Cags, but I love seeing undeafeated fighters loose.

I think Joe Calzaghe would probably win. But you can't count out a guy like Hopkins, hes a tricky fighter.

I think Joe will win. But:

Hopkins, like Joe, is great at spoiling a fighter's plan. But Hopkins is better at this game. The problem is, Calzaghe is more fit and energized at this stage of his career. Hopkins will have to bring the best 'spoiling' style he has ever brought in his life to win this fight. It would be an ugly fight, but I would love to see it just to see which guy is better at causing the other to lose. Who is the better spoiler...

Hopkins gets scorched by Calzaghe's pace. That old man is going to wish he'd retired by the time they get to the 10th. It's so obvious. The only question is whether or not Cal gets "old" before that fight happens...if it happens.
