Kessler would beat Pavlik. He has enough to stop Pavlik's early assault. And he has enough movement and ability to cause Pavlik alot of problems. And he proved tonight that he is incredibly durable.

Joe on the other hand. Not so sure about him. 3-4 months down the road...maybe. But a year down the road is too much. He is aging and even he knows this and has admitted this. he does not have that much left in the tank even though he is coming off the best win of his career.

Nah, Pavlik would dishearten Kessler by walking through his best punch just like Joe did. Kessler doesn't box nearly as well when he has to retreat. Kelly Pavlik does not move backwards, he only goes forward. After Kessler realized that Pavlik can eat his best punch, he would go defensive and Pavlik would lay the steel on him.

They said that about Kessler until last night.

Calzaghe either stops him or wins by a very wide UD.
Kessler stops Pavlik. No need for the judges.

Pavlik got lucky against Taylor. People need to remember that.

how does calzaghe stop pavlik are you out of your mind? calzaghe the pillow puncher? his last stoppage was in the summer of 1947 i think. pavlik eats him up easily none of his ****** grabbing techniques would work this time.

kessler said joe has a style that spoils a fighter. i think he meant that joe adapts and makes you fight the way you don't intend to. i am not sure if pavlik is someone who can adapt. i mean kessler only had 2 rounds with big shoits, but against soemone without the movement of joe i htink they would lose.

joe outboxed him. pavlik can not do that to kessler i don't think. kessler has a great jab, yet he didn't throw any. perhaps joe was too open which made him go for the power shots rather than jab.

joe is too skillful for pavlik. he moves a lot and can finish. he can take a punch and then adapt if he realsies that he is getting hit.

pavil has a chance against them , but a slim chance , but think about it , if a calzaghe bodyshot hurt kessler then what would a pavlik bodyshot do? if his power is just as devasting as in 160.

Calzaghe has serious power when he digs it in. Until a few years ago he was more power puncher than volume. You don't just lose all that.

I'm firmly of the opinion that staying at 168 reduces his power. It'll be interesting to see how he'll look at LHW ... I think he'll look much better for it.

Kessler over Pavlik easily. Kessler is very fast on his feet and has good movement for a big puncher. I don't think he would would knock out Pavlik but he would easily decision him and feed Pavlik a lot of power shots all night long. When Taylor was using simple boxing against Pavlik he would hae success and Kessler is a great 'simple' boxer. Kessler still impressed me last night and didn't lose any stock in my eyes as a fighter. He fought his heart out with a solid fight plan but just couldn't execute against a guy whose style was all wrong for him but Kessler still maintained his worth even in defeat.
