Yes, that is my criteria as well. Based on that view, Joe is the best fighter in the world today. I would even favor him to beat Pacquiao given they were the same weight. If Floyd can beat up Hatton, or vice versa, then I may be forced to make an adjustment.

        Until then...Calzaghe is boxing.

If he's considered the greatest SMW of all time then he's an all time great. But, BPP already posted one very good article, I know you saw it, that says exactly what I've been saying...ie...that if Cal won tonight his place as ATG is assured. I'll ask you: How can an undefeated 10+ year reign, and second all time title defense record (behind only Joe Louis) be ignored? Answer: It can't
            .

of course it can calzaghe has only fought 6 former world champions in his ten year career. lacy and kessler were his two best wins and they are one-dimensional and pedestrian champions. face it joe is smoke and mirrors like kosta zyu was. joe is an atg in your mind but he will never be recognized as top 100 or even top 200 based on the level of his competiton.

I guess because valuez was undefeated he was an atg too. being undefeated doesn't matter much if you haven't faced the opposition to test that 0. and joe has never tested himself against the best.

              1. Mayweather Jr.
              2. Bernard Hopkins
              3. Manny Pac
              4. Ricky Hatton
              5. Juan Manuel Marquez
              6. Miguel Cotto
              7. Shane Mosley
              8. Joe Calzaghe
              9. Chad Dawson
              10. Israel Vasquez

calzaghe needs to step up to light heavy and dare to be great.
