I was curious as to what happened to the scheduled Vernon Forrest vs. Teddy Reid fight that was supposed to be Forrest's return to the ring after the second Mayorga loss...
But then I found this, posted by Asian Sensation in 2004: He was scheduled to fight Teddy Reid on the undercard of Vitali Klitschko-Sanders on April 24, 2004 but had to pull out with a shoulder injury.
SO, my question got answered before I posted it. I looked for the answer to that once upon a time with no luck, I guess I used different search terms this time or something.
So, since the original topic of the thread is dead, I guess we can talk about something else... like...
Great US fighter who were not Olympians.
Mike Tyson
Shane Mosley
Winky Wright
James Toney
Bernard HopkinsComment

Most of those guys fought in the olympic trials or were alternates though. I"m also pretty sure Mike Tyson won the nationals a couple times. Mosley was also a top amateur. Hopkins won the prison championship or some ****...not that it means anything.
not sure about the winkster and toney though. I know Toney had a short am career.Comment
