Yeah, Floyd really didn't shut down Oscar's jab Dios and this is coming from a floyd fan here. Oscar just didn't throw it.

its questionable but if that makes you happy we'll give you that
Questionable? Maybe if he didn't run out of gas it would have, but I had it 115-113 for Floyd and it was pretty clear that he won because of the stuff he did at the end.

Also, I really wish people really would stop exagrating how old Oscar is. He's still a good fighter. I mean he put up a fight again floyd and dominated Mayorga. He's still a pretty good fighter.

active-mayweather, no doubt in my mine and here's why.

this ****er could counterpunch off of the ropes or in the middle of th ering. an great example would be in the 5th round of his fight with oscar where floyd countered oscar twice as oscar came in. another fight is the n'dou fight where he countered him all night and knocked him out with a counterpunch perfectly timed. floyd could counter off of a blocked shot very fast also. watch his fight with chavez where he counter uppercutted him. and let's not forget the fight with gatti and how he countered him a teh most fluently thrown left hook i've seen this decade. it was so well timed and thrown with so much ease and poise, and this was in the 3rd round i believe. how about his fight with corrales where he countered him easy as hell. his fight with judah, where he countered over zab;s jab with his own jab and buckled judah in the 2nd round near the start of the round. also, in the 6th or 7th round where he countered judah's combination with a vicious hook to judah's body and of course he sent judah back a few steps. baldomir was countered many times in their fight.

i haven't for a long time seen a fighter counter from so many angles and from so many positions like i've seen floyd do. i have all of his fights and this man was born to counter punch. he is ahead of his time.

some other great counterpunchers are toney, who was nothing short of amazing, and ivan calderon who is a vicous counterpuncher. oscar was great as well. winky is good, of course sweet pea and leonard are amongst the greatest, and ali, and holyfield was a splendid counterpuncher. floyd patterson should be mentioned. this man counterpunched amazingly and roy jones is in my top 10 for sure.

oh yeah, and floyd is also a very accurate counterpuncher.

The only reason I can think of for anyone to not name him as the best counter-puncher in the sport is because they have not seen him in action.

Uh, I think you guys are missing someone from all y'all's list, and that's Gerry Penalosa. The man was and still is a helluva counter-puncher.

Anyway, I'm curious as to how you guys determine as to who is the better or best at counterpunching? I just know of certain fighters who are really good at it, but as far as who is the best, that's a hard thing to prove.

Anyway, here's my list of my favorite counter-punchers(not in any particular order) Mike Tyson, James Toney, Gerry Penalosa, JMM, Finito Lopez, Rafael Marquez, Leonard, Hagler, there's too many to name.

Napo's gif is a good example of Calderon's excellence in counter-punching.

Floyd Mayweather obviously, don't throw any jabs because the lead right will make you change that gameplan. JMM is also a very good counterpuncher. Holy, Toney, Calderon, and Winky are also some names I would throw out there.

At present, Mayweather is probably the best out. imo. As said befor by others thats his offence.
