There is no HW champ according to the ring's rankings.. so what does that mean? I'm not being sarcastic here

How and who fights for it?
I gotcha now....didn't understand at first.

It has to be a #1 vs. #2 or a #1 vs. #3 under special circumstances. Only Klitschko Chagaev will produce a Ring champ, and that fact is not going to change unless it happens (i.e., I don't see anyone else beating either right now)

      Klitschko-Ibragimov changes very little

I think it should be by default. Who ever attempts to unify the titles deserves it. Whens the last time someone attempted to do so, Lennox Lewis? Wlad is recognizd as the best fighter anyway.

yea Thompson probably will fight the winner, then the IBF tourney winner will fight (Chambers), then whoever is left when da smoke disappears is champ.

You mean the Tony Thompson who just fought Cliff Couser (who was KO'd in the first round by Michael Moorer 11 months ago) ?

If the #1 and #2 guys fight, the ring gives the belt to the winner of that fight. I dont know whos ranked #2 though.

it was a 'stay busy' type fight, and at least Couser was coming off of a quick KO win over Monte Barrett. took Valuev way longer to beat Barrett. Thompsons real big wins are his one-sided fights again Krasniqi and Imbragimov, which arent amazing but pretty notable considering how one-sided the fights were. better than a 43 or whatever year old Holyfield, and barely beating Ray Austin..

Imbragimov wouldnt do anything for Klitschko in terms of the RING magazine's rankings, but I would be happy to see it. more than anything I wish Chagaev vs. Klitschko would happen, it would make PERFECT sense. by the time that fight was over with, Sam Peter and Maskaev would have fought and so would have Thompson and Imbragimov, so there wouldnt really be mandatiories in the way anymore, and unification could happen.
