    Revisiting Ruiz vs. Chagaev

Just watched the fight for the first time on Youtube, and scored it 115-114 Ruiz. I can see it being a draw, but I feel Ruiz won a close fight and the judges were heavily influenced by the loud cheering every time Chagaev threw a punch (even when he clearly missed). Ruiz came out strong the first two rounds, but gave away most of the middle rounds. I had Ruiz winning 4 out of the last 5 rounds with ease - he frustrated Chagaev with some pretty heavy body shots and more right uppercuts than I could count. This was also a pretty entertaining fight until the 12th, when Ruiz was clearly tired.

I scored it 116-112 or possibly even 117-111 for Chagaev.

115-114 Ruiz, LOL. Are you the first ever Ruiz Nuthugger ?

One of the judges at ringside scored it the same way FYI. Chagaev was hit with so many unanswered right uppercuts and body shots that I can't see how you would score it 116-112.

Been a while, but I had Chagaev by 2 points.
Thought his handspeed & cleaner punching pulled it off, but it was close.

Ruiz did some excellent work in close with the uppercut & bodyshots, & Chagaev underused his jab to keep it on the outside more often,
but still thought Chagaev landed the sharper shots & combinations to pull through.

        Also a bloody good fight.

you guys that saw it this way must not take cleaner punching into account. I really dont think it was that close of a fight if you judged the fight the way it should be judged

Chagaev faded considerably in the last half of the fight, so I can see how people could base their decision on that fact. I had Chagaev winning 115-113 but the fight could go either way easily.
