That doesn't make any sense. 'Cause like you said, it really doesn't matter who is the harder puncher unless his opponent IS getting his ass dropped from those harder punches. The fact still stands that Morales controlled the majority of the rounds with his boxing and won the fight.
If what you're saying is true, then how did the judges give the decision to Pac against Barrera if he never knocked him down? You don't have to drop someone to get the judge's attention. Just control the rounds, land shots and keep your opponent at bay more than he does to you.
I scored the first fight 115-113 for Morales and would've scored it 116-112 had he not got all macho and switched southpaw in the 12th.
