    Michael Nunn vs. Joe Calzaghe

nunn was an underachiever and better @ 160 than @ 168, but obviously he was very talented.

This is a distance fight if there ever was one. Nunn was insanely gifted. Quick like lightning with a splendid jab and speed of hand and foot a-plenty. Nunn was never a hard puncher although the Kalambay fight clould make you believe otherwise.

Calzaghe has that insane workrate and and awkward style that you cannot really prepare for. Joe gets accused for slapping but that is more the case in the latter part of his career. Earlier he was better at planting his feet and getting some leverage.

I find it very difficult to pick a winner in this fight, but given that the weight is slightly north of Nunn's best I tend to lean towards Calzaghe, but it's hard for me as Nunn was my personal favourite back when he ruled the middleweights.

Still I think I must go with Joe in a hard fought decision.

Tough matchup. I think Nunn can take it. He can rival Calzaghe's workrate, and he's a better puncher. I'd have to think about it.

Calzaghe wouldn;t fight him in his prime, maybe when he is near to 40 maybe! LOL. I think people forget that Calzaghe had to fight for his life Vs Eubanks, Robin Reid and Mikkel Kessler so there is no reason to think Nunn couldn't beat him. I think if Nunn brought his A game he would beat Calzaghe and maybe even a KO. The Nunn that became a slacker would lose by decision, but prime V prime I pick Nunn all day long
