After he gets dusted off on Dec. 8th.....where does he go from there?
Perhaps he could move back down to 140 and try to get another sanctioning body trinket. Malinaggi is always available. I also believe Pauli would school him as well although Ricky wouldn't have to worry about Pauali's power at all.
It would be a decison loss but Pauli wouldn't inflict much damage...Boy can't crack an egg.
Nah if he knows what's good for him he should stay away from Pauli and go after WBA jr.welterweight champion Gavin Rees.
This is Rees's record http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...4870&cat=boxer
27-0 (13 ko's)
He is only 5'3 and, he is undefeated and it looks like he doesn't have much punching power. Should be an easy comeback fight for The getting Hitman and look good on his record beating a unbeaten title holder.
Looks like The Getting Hitman took my advice after all:
Talks Begin For Ricky Hatton-Gavin Rees
By Mark Vester
According to a report in Daily Mail , talks have begun for a bout between the comebacking Ricky Hatton (43-1, 31KOs) and WBA junior welterweight champion Gavin Rees (27-0, 13KOs) of Wales. Hatton's return is slated for May 24 in Manchester.
Hatton's advisors have reached out to Frank Warren, promoter of Rees, to negotiate the bout for May. HBO will be televising Hatton's return. Rees pulled of a major upset in 2007 when he unseated Souleymane M'Baye to win the title. Hatton is coming off the first pro-loss of his career, a tenth-round TKO at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Rees is a member of the Calzaghe stable, trained and advised by Enzo Calzaghe (father and trainer of super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe).
An insider told the paper: "Nothing will be decided until Ricky returns from holiday but there have already been talks about him fighting Gavin Rees. Ricky will look at the options and make his own mind up."
