I think the fuel for the Pavlik train is the fact that Jermain Taylor was winning the fight on EVERY single scorecard

making the Pavlik win by KO that much greater because if the fight had kept going at the pace it had been ... and Taylor not been staggered ... and slumped into a corner JT would have won by decision on the judges scorecard.

making the fans who thought the Hopkins fights and Winky fights were robberies carry over that anger to the Pavlik fight

anyway regarding Taylor-Pavlik 2 ... the first fight was close, but bottom line Taylor is going to have to tweak some things regarding his fight plan if he hopes to win.

I watched the fight. I'm a Taylor fan, but I do not dislike Pavlik. If anything I might be going for him more if not for having to read all the posts here about how hes the hardest puncher in the world and stuff.

People seem to have forgot that Taylor was ahead on the cards and almost had Pavlik out in two rounds. Have people seriously not even watched the fight and act like they have?

Like I said, Pavlik is good. The one thing he has going for him is his power. Take away a 1/4 of his power he would just be an average boxer with a decent record. Think about it, the way he wins most if not all of his fights is by KO. If not for boxers being apprehensive about his power and getting caught they would just run right over Pavlik.

Ok, he has beat Taylor, I'll give him that. But what else besides Miranda? Dont tell me Zertuche, he is a journeyman with power. One good win to his record in beating Taylor and everyone seems to think hes #1 p4p. Maybe I'm just a realist?

He's strong and determined. Not to mention the tallest MW in the world with the lognest reach.

Only way you beat him is if you upset his rythym. Taylor can't do it.

I look at the damage Taylor did to Pavlik in the 2nd round as more of a lucky shot than something Taylor could easily inflict again. It was early in the fight, and right on the temple. I'm sure it hurt, but Taylor landed other right hands that didn't waver Pavlik at all. It's going to be very difficult for Jermain to knockout or even knockdown Pavlik again. His best chance is to not fight flat footed, always backing up, only using his awesome jab as a counter punch, etc...That's the style that has arguably lost him 3 of his last 4 fights.

I agree with whoever said that even if Jermain does decide to keep his hands up, box and move around, jabbing offensively, that another taste of Pavlik's downright Satanic right hand would likely bring Jermain right back to his same old flat-footed, amatuer style.

It's difficult to imagine how this fight will turn out any differently than the first one. Pavlik certainly has his number at the moment. Maybe losing will turn Taylor into a different animal?

Not a good move on Jermaine's part. Although he did counter well in the 5th round with the jab. However, Jermaine is not capable of sticking to a game plan for 12 rounds. As the fight progresses he will go back to all of his bad habits. I see Jermaine looking good early and Pavlik ultimately breaking his will once again by KO.

I wish people would crying about a so alled bandwagon. Thruth be told Pavlik can fucing punch. And also he has a very good beard and is determined as hell. And he is not merely a brawler. He is a boxer who is extremely active who packs a hell of a punch.

If Kelly were a brawler he wouldn't have put Jermaine away. He put him away with short and accurate punching.

I can easily see Taylor showing up to box, fighting from the outside, doubling and tripling up on the jab, and winning an easy decision.

I can also see Taylor's plan of doing just that going to **** when Kelly hits him flush.......
i see this as a chance for Pavlik to stick his jab about 300 more times in JT's face and hopefully learn from some of the dumb things he did the first time around. Pavlik seems to be a smart kid and I just dont see him going away from what worked the first time. He will also be the champ in his mind and JT's so this could all come down to confidence, blood and guts.

it took pavlik 4-5 rounds to figure taylor out and break him down, there were times he had trouble with taylors exclusive counterpunching but ultimately he wont have to go through that feeling out process again and i expect him to control the fight from the start.

i dont blame taylor for taking the fight. he loses to kessler, calzghe, or pavlik he may as well fight the guy who will make him the most money.
