Wrong. Hatton was in talks to fight Baldomir in his first trip to the US after Baldomir's win over Judah but Baldomir priced himself out of the fight and negotiations stalled. Hatton's camp had planned to fight Gatti had he defeated Baldomir but he didn't and the rest is history.

WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir is close to pricing himself out of May's proposed showdown with Manchester's Ricky Hatton.
Baldomir is the preferred opponent for WBA and IBF light welterweight champion Hatton's first fight in America.

Hatton's father and manager Ray told BBC Sport: "I'm all for boxers getting well paid, but you have to be sensible.

"It's not quite dead in the water. We're going to give him another chance, but it's not looking good."

Who cares about Dela Hoya!!! Dela Hoya is a money maker and thats why he gets fights but come on!! he hasn't been a legitimate full time fighter in years!!! That's the business of boxing and why over the hill fighters like Tarver, Roy Jones JR and Holyfield are still fighting. As long as fans are willing to pay big bucks to see has beens this will continue. Getting back to Hatton he WILL lose this fight because he's slower, smaller and just doesn't possess the natual ability Mayweather does. Is Hatton a bad fighter?? No!!! He just doesn't have the style to beat Mayweather and he is not used to fighting bigger guys never mind one who is an elite fighter like Mayweather. They may weigh the same at fight time but Hatton will still be concidered the smaller guy as he's moving up whereas Mayweather has proven he can fight at this weight and has been at this weight for a longer time.

All of the Mayweather fans are saying that Hatton is a bum, but then if Mayweather beats Hatton, they will use this as proof that Floyd is the GOAT. Funny stuff.

NO you don't know anything about boxing you moron! Hatton's style is too hold guys and deliver body shots, that will NOT WORK on baldomir, baldomir is too big and too stronger, baldomir is bigger then de la hoya.

Judah's loses were to tszyu spinks mayweather cotto, he was beating tszyu until the lucky punch, he lost a close deicison to a big welterweight in spinks in his first fight at 147 avenged it with a knockout, he lost to mayweather and so will hatton, he was beating cotto until the low blows, then he stop fighting after round 2 ended. HATTON can't beat spinks mayweather or cotto either, and he got lucky when he beat tszyu who had only fought 2 rounds in 3 years. I SAID HATTON WOULD BEAT TSZYU MYSELF.

De La Hoya now, last year and next year would PUNISH hatton. a short pressure fighter like hatton is PREY for de la hoya. the fight would look just like chavez/de la hoya, hatton would be bloodied and bruised.

Hatton's best win is luis collazo (which is a good win), a solid welterweight. castillo was shot to **** in the hatton fight and WE ALL could see that within 30 seconds. Tszyu had basically a 3 year lay off.

The fact you come out with and I quote "he was beating tszyu until the lucky punch" makes you a total ****ing **** sniffer, go away and scratch your brains, its that thing next to your tiny ****.
