Well as of right now, he's known as the guy who beat Oscar. If you take away his win agaisnt Oscar, and I say win because he lost the second fight imo, then he's just a fighter with great skill and an average resume. Think about it other than Oscar, he has no big wins over prime fighters. No other wins really stand out. So it does wonders for his legacy to beat a very good prime fighter yeah.Comment

Your opinion is your opinion, but c'mon man, you seriously think you're not pointing an over-scrupulous finger at a fighter (Mosley) who was never known to have any stamina issues (which EPO helps out) and at nothing more than an allegation at that???Shane took steroids. And he injected EPO. So he is a known cheat.
Shane is either 2-0 or 1-1 vs Oscar. And that , essentially, is his legacy. The Vargas fights didn't do anything but get him money. And he is 0-4 against the other top fighters. He beat nobody of note at LW.
So, to beat a young lion would be a career-validating win, of sorts.
Also, Shane's entire early-career work is suspect because of his intensive steroids use. Presumably, he is off the juice now. So let's see who he is.
It should be noted that Cotto still bears a question mark.
If he was this perfomance enhanced freak as you state he is, would he not have been decimated at the hands of all the elite fighter's he's been fighting all these years? Surely somewhere along down the line his "juicing regimen" would have been interrupted in some way and he would have been brutally put away due to his advantage being taken away. But he never was, he has always been consistently competitive throughtout his career regardless of all the top tier comp he's been fighting. Bottom line is, he doesn't display the ups and downs in performance of a typical performance enhancing drug user (just like those roid heads in the gym who are big one week and shrink the next). The man is a consistent fighter who has lost at the hands of fighters with styles not conducive to his own. It's all legit man, he's not a cyclist doping up his blood to go the extra mile. Don't be so adamant over an allegation.Comment

I will give tremendous credit to whoever wins this fight. In my mind this is not an easy fight for either man and the winner will be worthy of any praise they get although I will try to at least feign surprise when the usual suspects rear their ugly heads and try to discredit the victor by whatever means available.Comment

Well said. What makes this fight so endearing is that it's as 50/50, pick'em as it gets. The victor in this contest deserves all the glory they get and shame on those "boxing fans" who try and detract from the winner's glory by making ****** excuses.I will give tremendous credit to whoever wins this fight.
