at this stage, just about any pro fighter could beat cotto at 140 lbs, being as cotto would probably have to be carried to the ring due to collapsing after making 140 lbs.

the cotto of a couple years ago who made 140 (not with the least bit of comfort) would beat diaz i think.

terrible match up for diaz. i picked cotto to tko him. diaz would be dealing with someone who will come in at middleweight. cotto has fought bigger and more powerful opponents so cotto would be able to take anything that diaz had to dish out. i see diaz being worn down and probably stopped with body shots. wrong style for diaz

Juan Diaz is such an insanely effective head hunter and hyperactive super busy puncher that he would keep Cotto off balance and on the defensive for all 12 rounds winning a unanimous decision.

Miguel Cotto does not like being hit to the head and is least effective when his opponent initiates more frequently than he does. Cotto is the naturally bigger man but Diaz is the type to land 6 after his man lands 1. Pouring on the offense is the way to beat Cotto and Juan Diaz is durable and extremely capable of getting the job done.

If Juan Diaz said that Julio Diaz hit hard, imagine what Cotto would do to him. Cotto is just to big for him... Late round TKO.

Tough fight, Cotto can't make 140 at the moment. However, the Cotto that could barely get to 140 would be much to big for Diaz, who's hight workrate would force Cotto be more defensive. He doesn't let an offense stop him from his forward plodding and punching and with Juann's power, Cotto wouldn't be wained from his forward movement at all.

Not because I am from Puerto Rico, but I think Cotto is just too strong here. He's a welterweight with frame to go as far as middleweight plus Diaz does not have the kind of power to stop Cotto, who is also a fighter who fights going forward and rippping the body. I only see 2 fighters who could beat Cotto now, and those are Mosley and Mayweather.
