Collazo was the WBC champ and had lost only one fight when he fought Ricky. Don't forget that recently Collazo took Mosely all the way to the end but lost a UD (not very close though). Maybe a bum, maybe not a bum. Collazo's a pretty resilient and tough boxer. He may not be elite, but he's capable of giving any boxer in his weight class a tough fight.

No. If Mayweather loses, then he is removed and replaced by Manny Pacquaio, by most anyway. I'd have him as number one, that's for sure. It's not like a title, you don't win it.. you earn it through NUMEROUS wins and accomplishments and what you should be able to accomplish in the future, based upon your efforts and recent performances. Hatton would move up higher than Mayweather, but both would be still in the top ten to any reasonable fan.

Yes, Hatton should get the #1 spot . Beating someone of Mayweather's stature would be like having beaten MAB, JMM, and EM all rolled into one. Mayweather is one of those athletes that would would best be described as "someone who comes around every 20 years". And another thing, if Hatton does beat Floyd, he would be the first one to put an L on the world's greatest fighter today!

Well, I wouldnt say that Floyd = MAB+JMM+Morales, in fact I think JMM is a better tactician than Floyd, and MAB or Morales wouldve made it competetive with Floyd at 130.

And resume-wise, MAB and Morales is comparable with Floyd's.

            Agree?
            Nope.

Coz Calzaghe is still the number 1 Brit. Hatton should go up to welter and face the elites. Then we will see.

Hes fighting the elite welter weight, how much more elite is there than Floyd Mayweather.
If he ko's Mayweather surely he's no 1

The p4p rankings are a bit more of an eliminator-style process. Once the number one guy goes down, the number two fighter replaces the number one fighter. Then, the former "king" gets ranked, usually within the top ten, based upon the performance. The guy who beat the former p4p champ, is then ranked ABOVE the guy he beat, but not usually number one.

If it went that way.. we'd have Kelly Pavlik as the number one ranked fighter in the world right now, and that's... not true. Good fighter, but he's not top 5 at this point.

Mayweather is the elite fighter, but would be most effective at 140, to be honest. Cotto.. Mosley.. De La Hoya.. those are natural 147 pounders.

If thats the case then why has he insisted this fight is at 147, is he worried Ricky would beat him at the weight that Ricky is also most comfortable at.

No, I don't think he's worried, I just think that at 147, he's more comfortable, and prefers to play it smart. If Hatton had the chips in his hand, I think he'd try for every advantage he could, too. Nothing to look down on Floyd for, LITERALLY THOUSANDS of fighters do this, and it's nothing but smart. Second of all, it sets up other big fighters for the winner, Mayweather or Hatton, AT 147, where more money is at.

Out of the two, at 147, Mayweather is MOST comfortable, compared to Hatton.
